The West Virginia University Police Department (UPD) provides a development program designed to enhance the professionalism, effectiveness, and general job performance of the officer.  This self-directed program is intended to provide job enrichment opportunities within the ranks of the department upon an officer's achievement in demonstrating an acceptable level of competence, skills and abilities necessary for professional development.
